10 Aero Glass Gadgets For Windows 7

While the gadgets have been greatly improved from Windows Vista in Windows 7, I still feel there should be more options available for them. Yes you can get more of them online from Microsoft, but I’ve never really bothered with any of them, they don’t really excite me too much.
Then I stumbled across this collection of aero glass gadgets from Dncube of Deviant Art.
Now we don’t often find many themes like this for gadgets, and I wish more of them would be supported as these look pretty cool.

Now you have to say, they look pretty slick alright. There’s all your basic gadgets there, Clock, Calendar, Performance meters, Wi-Fi, RSS, News and Weather. But there’s a couple of extra ones as well. Things like battery, music, movies, recycle bin, pictures and even a neat Gmail widget that checks your mail for you.
I know this all seems great and everything, but unfortunately it’s not that simple. Yes it does work but it’s not all plain sailing.
The first problem starts at installation, you download a RAR file and then you have to extract it. You then need to go into that folder and run the setup.exe file (as administrator). It then pretty much takes over your screen then and in order to activate the gadgets and install it you have to click on an advert. This process didn’t work out to well for me and you have to have an internet connection as well.
Eventually after several error messages, and UAC prompts I got it installed and all the gadgets were all over my desktop. It’s up to you to configure some of them and sort everything out after that.
So ye it does work, but it’s not as simple as it could be, but if you’re looking for new gadgets, it could be worth checking out.
